Located at the northern end of the Parkway Bank Park at Rosemont, Five Roses is a nice intimate venue. They offer Irish pub food, generally in the $10-20 per entree range. It’s possible to eat here for under $20, especially if you do not order any alcoholic drinks. Generally, though, plan on a bill around $30 a person, $40-50 if you are drinking. Not super cheap but not horrible, especially for the area. You do get pretty good value for what you pay for on the meals, the portions are generous. I can’t speak to the value on drinks as I rarely drink alcohol.

Food-wise, pretty much anything you order will be good. I really love their mahogany chicken (pan-seared with a soy glaze), and when they had it, their Guinness pie (basically like shepherd’s pie but with a Guinness soup almost, and puff pastry instead of potatoes). Of course, their Irish selections are going to be the best, but everything I’ve had so far on the menu is great.

This is a good late night place – open until 2 or 3 am depending on the day. They also have live music at times, and while it gets noisy during those times, it’s a very nice venue as it’s not very big and the acoustics are decent.

I love the atmosphere here – it definitely gives me an Irish pub feeling! Dark wood throughout gives it a cozy feeling, and I really love the furniture.

My recommendations?  Come here if you love Irish food or pub food in general. If you’re looking for someplace to eat after midnight, this would be my top pick over some of the other spots in the park.

Late night; Moderate; good for dates
