All about KnitChick

KnitChick/ January 4, 2019/ About Me

Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I’m Mary Jo, aka KnitChick, and I’ve been online far too long (over 20 years at this point). I’m a lifelong Chicagoan, and I can’t imagine living anywhere else! My undergraduate degree is in Communications, Mass Media & Theatre, while I have a Masters in Library & Information Science. Currently I’m working for an experiential marketing company in downtown Chicago, on the 52nd floor of the AON Center (way too high for someone afraid of heights, eep!)

When I’m not at work, I am heavily involved in the cosplay community. I started cosplaying and going to conventions in 2007. I’ve been staffing conventions since 2009 (Anime Central, C2E2, Youmacon, Chicago TARDIS, Ramencon & more). The last couple of years I’ve been doing photography at conventions as well (not really a new thing – I’ve been serious about photography for about 25 years now, but I’ve only had my DSLR for about 3 years at this point).

My favorite shows are Kamen Rider W, Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger, and Power Rangers Hyperforce. I love Kamen Rider in general (I’ve seen all but 4 of the Heisei era Riders at this point, working my way through the pre-Decade shows right now), and Super Sentai.  My favorite cosplays currently are my toku costumes, primarily Philip from Kamen Rider W (his clothes are super comfy!), but I’ve also done several other Riders and Sentai cosplays. Eventually I’d love to have some suited Sentai and Rider costumes.

I have an Amazon wishlist, if anyone wants to get me something off of it (as well as a GiftHero wishlist). I also have a cosplay wishlist and a toku-specific wishlist. 🙂  Or you can just PayPal me!
